Ready to take the lead at a well-established company in safety culture and help drive its next phase of growth?
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the business, including full P&L ownership. You will join a company that has spent almost 40 years helping major industrial organisations build stronger safety cultures. At a pivotal moment in its history, the founder is handing over the reins, giving you the opportunity to shape the company’s next phase of development.
Your role as General Manager
You will set the company’s strategic direction and translate it into a clear business plan, with a strong focus on profitable growth and EBITDA. You will lead a team of around 20 employees, supported by a network of approximately 30 independent trainers and coaches. You will directly oversee the Sales Manager and the Finance & HR Manager.
The day-to-day commercial operation is not part of your direct remit. A Commercial Director is already in place, and the sales team operates independently. Your role is broader and more strategic: bringing structure and focus to the organisation, creating the conditions for growth, and further developing the business, with particular attention to the service offering, marketing and external representation.
About the company
For almost 40 years, our client has been a trusted partner for major industrial, logistics and construction companies looking to strengthen their safety culture. Through consultancy, training and its own safety programmes, the company helps organisations reduce workplace accidents and embed safer behaviours for the long term.
Today, more than 2,000 companies use its services. The majority of its revenue is generated in France, with the remainder coming from Belgium. The company is now entering a new phase. After several decades of stability under the leadership of its founder, the ambition is to build on that strong foundation and achieve sustainable, profitable growth.
What are we looking for?
You have a Master’s degree or equivalent experience and at least 5–10 years of experience in a senior management or leadership role, ideally within B2B services, training, consultancy or safety.
You have excellent French-language skills; Dutch is an advantage.
You are a natural leader with a structured and rigorous approach. At the same time, you have an entrepreneurial mindset and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting things done.
You are willing to travel regularly in France, approximately 20% of the time, and to be frequently present at the office, particularly during your first months in the role.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to take full responsibility for a well-established, entrepreneurial company with a strong reputation and a clear track record.
You will have full P&L responsibility and considerable freedom to shape the business, with short decision-making lines and direct access to the people who matter.
The position is offered on a self-employed basis, with a competitive package that can include an EBITDA-based bonus and, in time, the opportunity to participate in the company’s equity.
The role is based in Nivelles, Belgium, with limited travel to France (maximum 20%).
