Your challenge as a Sales Engineer

As a Beluma Sales Engineer you are responsible for managing and following up a diverse client portfolio in your region: Antwerp – Limburg – Flemish Brabant. You are responsible for achieving turnover and margin targets per product segment. You focus both on achieving turnover growth at key accounts by developing account plans and expanding current projects by means of cross-selling opportunities, and on guaranteeing a certain turnover by developing new projects at existing “focus accounts”. You also keep your eyes and ears open when interesting prospects cross your path.

Core responsibilities:

  • Technical Consulting and Customer SupportYou put your technical knowledge to optimal use by thinking with your customer as a knowledge partner. You provide appropriate advice in the form of solutions in your client’s design process and/or optimizing their production and assembly processes. Giving a tooling demo here can be part of the consulting process; your client experiences directly how our solutions make their processes more efficient, smarter and faster so the client experiences the benefits and applications immediately. Based on your advice, you steer towards new collaboration contracts for delivery of necessary components.
  • Needs Analysis and Solutions: You identify your client’s specific needs and translate them into the most appropriate solutions. By listening carefully and asking the right questions, you win the customer’s trust and build your relationships. In this way you can have a real impact on your clients’ end products and be at the heart of their technical development.
  • Relationship Management and Customer Portfolio Expansion.: You will build relationships with existing (key – and focus) accounts and expand your customer portfolio in a targeted way. You do business with a wide range of customers in the manufacturing industry, varying from machine builders, metal processing and , transport industry to design agencies. Your discussion partners with your customers are primarily mechanical engineers and production managers, as well as the purchasing and management departments.
  • Collaboration with Internal Sales: Together with your regular colleague from Internal Sales, you are jointly responsible for running the business in your area. Your colleague plans visits for you, and you organize some of them yourself. As a Sales Engineer, you then know how to convert these into technical consulting projects after which you conclude them in contracts. Your colleague also supports you in preparing quotations.
  • Product Information and Innovation.: For more specialized product information and support, contact your colleagues in product management. Together with them you provide workshops and innovation meetings at customers and prospects.

Why do we want to meet you?

  • At least 5 years of work experience in a technical environment (production, construction, engineering, project management, sales…);
  • Technical education completed; At least A2 with relevant work experience or a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Customer contact experience;
  • In addition, you have project experience and can read technical drawings (CAD);
  • Fluent in Dutch with a good level of English and French.
